Undefeated Clemson takes on ever-dangerous Alabama in tomorrow night’s national championship game and though the Tigers are 6.5 point underdogs against the Crimson Tide, cornerback Mackensie Alexander has high hopes.
Speaking to reporters at yesterday’s media day, including John Talty of AL.com, Alexander was blunt in his feelings about what he described as the “Alabama brand.”
“We are 14-0, and we were underdogs last week, it’s all a brand thing,” Alexander said. “Everyone cares about the brand, the Alabama brand. I understand it’s a lot of fans, and they’ve done it for a long time, but this is a new year, and it’s our time.”
ESPN’s Joe Schad also tweeted out a remark Alexander made, in which he basically called out Alabama star receiver Calvin Ridley.
Clemson CB Mackensie Alexander on Calvin Ridley: “What do you want me to say about the guy? He’s fast. I’m fast. This isn’t my first rodeo.”

And Clemson has thus officially become the CM Punk to Alabama’s John Cena. There is no respect being given under any circumstances, at least not until the Tigers are raising that championship trophy at the final gun tomorrow night.
Naturally, this game has become even more of a must-watch, so be sure to tune to ESPN tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. ET for what should be a great game!
