Alabama head coach Nick Saban is usually a pretty calm guy on the sideline. He has shown poise and class in just about every possible situation throughout his career.
However, when the coach does get upset, everyone surrounding him knows it almost immediately. One place he has shown a bit of his darker side was in press conferences, where he has gone on rants when reporters ask repetitive or irrelevant questions.
I mean, who can forget “s— through a tin horn” when he was asked about Charleston Southern earlier this season.
AL.com sent one of their rookie reporters to the College Football Playoff media day on Sunday and he showed fans what it was like to ask him a question. Without a doubt, you could tell how nervous the guy was, especially when he had to repeat his question to Saban three times.
This reporter didn’t get an infamous Saban rant, but had he been asked to repeat the question just one more time, we probably would have gotten one. I guess this serves as a lesson to all aspiring reporters out there.
If you want to ask big name coaches, especially Saban, questions, you better come prepared.
