According to a report on TigerNet.com, Clemson defensive back Mackensie Alexander may be on the the sidelines for Monday night’s National Championship against Alabama.
Alexander figures to be a prominent figure in stopping Alabama’s offensive attack, and his absence would surely be felt. A redshirt sophomore, speculation is that it’s Alexander’s hamstring that’s the issue, it has been bothering him in recent weeks.
He will be tested by the training staff pregame to confirm his status.
Alexander has recorded 21 tackles, two for loss, and five passes defended this year for the Tigers.
Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
