Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger revealed on a local Pittsburgh radio show that on top of spraining his AC joint in his team’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Wild Card Game last weekend, he also suffered torn ligaments.

Roethlisberger would eventually come back in the game and lead his team on the game-winning drive, with assists going to stupid Cincinnati penalties, but there are suddenly a lot of question marks about how effective he’ll be against a strong Denver Broncos defense in the AFC Divisional Game on Saturday. Denver’s pass rush is no joke and while Bob Holtzman of ESPN tweeted that Roethlisberger should be “good to go” for the game, the same cannot be said for star receiver Antonio Brown, who suffered a concussion late in the game against the Bengals thanks to a dirty hit from Vontaze Burfict.
Pittsburgh could also be relying on Fitzgerald Toussaint at running back again, since DeAngelo Williams’ injured ankle is still not quite at 100 percent, meaning that Big Ben will have to get creative in the passing game while injured and potentially without his top receiver. Needless to say, combine those factors with the game being played in Denver, and the odds of Pittsburgh advancing to the AFC Championship Game suddenly become slim.
Kickoff is slated for 4:40 p.m. ET on CBS, so be sure to tune in!
