One day it’s Jerry Jones pushing for a Chargers/Rams merger in Inglewood. The next, it’s insiders calling a Chargers/Rams merger “transformational.
And now today, an NFL committee is pushing for a 1.79 billion dollar stadium in Carson, Ca. The merger: Chargers/Raiders.

In this neverending back-and-forth affair, money will ultimately win out. While the Raiders historically, behold the strongest lore of the 3 franchises pushing for relocation, they don’t necessarily hold the most sway.
Sway seems to be in favor of the Rams, whose owner Stan Kroenke–a popular man among the NFL– aims to get out of dodge and bring his young and athletic Rams team back to Southern California.
But…not so fast. There are reasons why the Chargers/Raiders work in Carson. Neither team has investments in and around the area. That allows for a more feasible 50/50 split, benefiting both organizations fairly.
Kroenke hasn’t been shy about his love of Inglewood. He owns commercial property around the inner-Los Angeles area, making the move a strategic money making venture. That’s what worries the Chargers. They feel like they’d be step children in a relationship with the Rams.
Ultimately, the NFL, a 10 billion dollar industry, will put preferences aside and aim to make the most lucrative decision. With the 2016 season not that faraway, time is of the essence.
