“We wish Rashard Higgins all the best as he begins this next chapter in his life,” Colorado State head coach Mike Bobo said in a statement. “I’m appreciative of the way he represented his family, our team and Colorado State University, and gave everything he had for his teammates and our great fans on a daily basis. Rashard will always be a Ram, and I have no doubt he will be successful as he joins his fellow former Rams proudly representing Colorado State in the NFL.”
A former two-star prospect from the Dallas area whose only Power 5 offer was from Missouri, Higgins finishes his college career with 238 catches for 3,648 yards and 31 touchdowns. In 2014, he led the nation with 1,750 receiving yards and 17 touchdown catches.
Next up for Higgins is next month’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, where he will look to prove to scouts that he belongs among the elite of the 2016 NFL Draft class despite having played at a mid-major program.
