Tom Coughlin pulls his name from Eagles coaching candidates

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Tom Coughlin has pulled his name out of the running for the Eagles next head coach. His reasoning according to Schefter, was that it was not the right fit.

With Tom Coughlin out of the picture, the Eagles now are expected to pursue Chiefs OC Doug Pederson as their next head coach, per source.

There is speculation that Coughlin may have pulled his name because he found out that the Eagles would be hiring another candidate. Thus far the Eagles have interviewed Doug Pederson, Pat Shurmur and Duce Staley for their coaching vacancy.

Giants fans can breathe a little easier, knowing that their Super Bowl winning coach won’t be trying to get their rivals there as well.
