LSU loses more than a coach in Frank Wilson

While the LSU Tigers return a ton of talent on their team for the 2016 season, it looks like they have lost one of their biggest pieces on the coaching staff. Thursday night, running back coach Frank Wilson was hired away as the new head coach of the UTSA Roadrunners.

Wilson has long been considered one of the nation’s best recruiters the last few seasons. He has continued to give the Tigers a great bunch of talent the last six seasons, including running back Leonard Fournette, a former top-ranked recruit, who was pretty upset to see him go.

To prove that he is truly one of the nation’s top recruiters, he was names Rivals.com’s Recruiter of the Year in 2011. Since his arrival in 2011, he has had the Tigers in the top ten for recruiting classes every year.

The Tigers may still be one of the top teams in 2016, but this is certainly a huge loss for the team to endure. Wilson will be missed in Baton Rouge.
