Steelers coaches Mike Munchak, Joey Porter fined $10,000 each

Pittsburgh Steelers assistants Mike Munchak and Joey Porter have been fined $10,000 apiece for their actions in last weekend’s AFC Wild Card Game, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

Munchak was fined for pulling the hair of Bengals safety Reggie Nelson while Nelson incidentally made contact with Munchak while running out of bounds, and the two jawed at each other after the fact. Porter, on the other hand, was viewed as the instigator in an on-field confrontation that saw Cincinnati receive an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on top of the personal foul call that came after an illegal hit from linebacker Vontaze Burfict that saw Steelers star wideout exit with a concussion.

Needless to say, both men acted in manners unbecoming and well below the standard of NFL coaches on any level, assistant or no, so hopefully this fine will help them learn their lesson and stay out of trouble against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
