Temple gets QB commit for 2016, LSU and Rutgers lose out

Three-star Pennsylvania quarterback prospect Anthony Russo committed to Temple Friday according to OwlScoop.com’s Kyle Gauss. LSU and Rutgers had also been recruiting Russo.

Russo had gotten a visit from LSU coaches earlier in the week, but they did not extend an offer. The lack of an offer from the Tigers is thought to have helped Russo make up his mind.

Earlier this week, Russo opened back up his recruitment after de-committing from Rutgers. The 6-foot-4, 221-pound signal caller is the nation’s No. 25 pro-style quarterback. More importantly, he was LSU’s Plan B if the Tigers could not lure Dwayne Haskins away from a commitment to Maryland.

LSU remains without a quarterback commit in its 2016 recruiting class.
