Today’s college basketball world is full of excellent coaches, John Calipari, Rick Pitino and Mike Krzyzewski to name just a few. These man have proven their worth and more in their time manning the hardwood sidelines and all have championship rings to show for their efforts.
But what about the coaches that have always put out great teams during their careers, but don’t have a title ring to show for it? After all, championship rings do not a great coach make, and some of the greatest in the business have never won one.
This year’s coaching pool is deep as ever, especially with no clear dominant team separating itself from the rest of the pack, so there are obviously those who have not won titles yet due to either just getting into head coaching, age or just not having yet grabbed the proverbial brass ring.
That said, here are five coaches that are more than capable of leading teams to a championship, but haven’t quite gotten that far yet.
