Video: Iona player slaps Monmouth player, Hawks HC suggests he take up MMA

The Monmouth Hawks and Iona Gaels had a great game that came down to the wire with the former coming out on top 110-102. The two teams got chippy towards the end of the game and it culminated in an all-out brawl that saw the two teams forcibly pulled apart.

During the fight, Iona’s Jordan Washington smacked Monmouth’s Chris Brady across the fight in what is obviously going to see a suspension handed down.

Following the brawl, Monmouth head coach King Rice talked about the fight. He suggested that Washington should take up MMA after the way Brady’s nose looked.

“Chris [Brady’s] nose is about this swollen right now, so if [Washington] slapped Chris that hard, man he should maybe try MMA because nobody smacks, and the kid’s nose is this big downstairs right now,” Rice told the Asbury Park Press.

He seemed to have a pretty good sense of humor, but he was also pretty upset about the fight. Expect to see the NCAA get intervened with this incident.
