Marshawn Lynch to play today, role unknown

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will play today for the first time since November 15, having been out with hernia surgery since then.

But how much will Lynch play? The answer is anybody’s guess.

“You never know with this guy,” a source said.

Even Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevel didn’t commit to Lynch’s playing time.

“You never know,” Bevell said. “He can change his mind pregame.”

The long and short of it is this. It’s clear that Lynch won’t be back with Seattle next year and last week against the Minnesota Vikings, Christine Michael held his own with 71 rush yards in a 10-9 victory.

On top of that, in an NFC Divisional Game against the seemingly unstoppable Carolina Panthers later today, there seems to be the belief that Lynch will take himself out of the game even if he’s good to go. In such a case, shame on him for being selfish.
