The Denver Broncos are headed to the AFC Championship Game once again, this time because of the craftiness of Peyton Manning.
You see, with Denver trailing 13-12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday, in the fourth quarter of the AFC Divisional Game matchup, Manning dove to avoid a sack and then got back up to find receiver Emmanuel Sanders for a gain of 34 yards as Denver went on to win 23-16.
Ready for the crazy part? Manning planned the whole thing! Speaking to reporters after the game, he offered further details.
“I was stepping up. When you fake that way and kind of get your head around, I felt that guy closing, so I stepped up and kind of leaned forward. My momentum kind of just took me down, I guess. I didn’t think that he had touched me. I told Emmanuel just to kind of be alert in case I fall down, get back up, to be uncovered.”
