There is probably no two better friends in the NFL today than Arizona Cardinal defensive backs Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson. The two have seen each other grow from the ranks of the SEC to the glory of the NFL and they have a closer bond than just about anybody in the league.
Peterson got together with NFL Films to make a pretty cool video about Mathieu. In the video titled “Born and Bred in New Orleans,” Peterson narrates how there are many former LSU Tigers performing well in the NFL today, from Jarvis Landry to Odell Beckham Jr.
He says that he is most proud of Mathieu because of his background and how it wasn’t always easy for him growing up.
From his father being in prison to his grandfather dying to being adopted by his aunt and uncle, it’s safe to say that Mathieu has a lot of reasons to be humble in the NFL.
Despite Mathieu not being able to help the Cardinals to the Super Bowl while dealing with a torn ACL, he will still be with the team in Charlotte on Sunday to cheer them on in the NFC Championship Game against the Carolina Panthers.
If you watch this video and learn Mathieu’s story to see how he’s become one of the best players in the NFL, you would see why he feels entitled to gloat.
