Three-star linebacker T.J. Brunson, a former Louisville commit who currently stars at Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, South Carolina, is staying close to home. Per a tweet from Brunson himself, the prospect has committed to stay home and play for the Gamecocks.

Aside from Louisville and South Carolina, Brunson had offers in hand from N.C. State, North Carolina, East Carolina and others. He’ll instead play for a Gamecocks team that is starting to take interesting shape under new coach Will Muschamp, with four-star quarterback Brandon McIlwain and JUCO cornerback Jamarcus King already signing on.
Now that Brunson is in the mix, expect South Carolina to look a whole lot better than the team that was 3-9 (1-7 SEC) in 2015.
