The recruiting story of longtime Michigan Wolverines commit Erik Swenson took a bizarre turn on Wednesday when reports surfaced that Michigan decided to pull their offer just two weeks before National Signing Day.

Following the report, many voices came out defending the Illinois native and bashing the Michigan football program.
It is a terrible look for the Wolverines and one Notre Dame Fighting Irish staffer took to social media to put Michigan on blast for the way they handled the process.
Notre Dame’s Director of Football Media Relations Michael Bertsch wrote:

Burn.
It is an awful situation and one that people are taking so seriously because a kid’s future is on the line. Let’s hope that it all works out for Swenson and that he ends up at a program that is the best fit for him, because Michigan obviously was not it.
