Browns fined Johnny Manziel for missed medical treatment

The Johnny Manziel circus continues in Cleveland, as Kevin Patra of NFL.com is reporting that the Browns have fined the quarterback for a missed medical treatment. Browns executive VP Sashi Brown confirmed that the fine was for a missed concussion treatment on January 3, Cleveland’s regular season finale.

Brown also stated that the reason for why Manziel missed the treatment is unknown, but it seems pretty obvious that it was because he was in Las Vegas the night before and wearing a disguise so that he would not be recognized. Brown also said that Manziel’s future with the Browns is unknown, but that there would be a sit-down meeting between both parties before a decision was made.

“We’re not in a panic to make a decision one way or another on him,” Brown said.

Either way, with the Browns owning the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and new coach Hue Jackson implying that he would like a quarterback, Manziel’s time in Cleveland could be drawing to a close. He has not been able to keep his off-field behavior in check despite showing progress on the field and he needs to go to a team that will either commit to giving him playing time, let him have a clean slate, or both.
