Jim Harbaugh recently upped his recruiting game by staying overnight at recruits’ homes and though it has become something of a viral sensation and all involved appear to have enjoyed their respective visits, one man won’t be jumping on the bandwagon Harbaugh has started.
That man is Michigan State head coach and Harbaugh’s Big Ten rival Mark Dantonio, who told reporters that he didn’t have any such visits with recruits planned. Joe Rexrode of The Detroit Free Press reported Dantonio’s exact comments on Twitter.
Asked about sleepovers, Mark Dantonio said none are in the works. "I've got my own problems," he said.

Dantonio not sleeping over at recruits’ houses is his own choice, but suppose that Harbaugh’s approach puts Michigan far ahead of Michigan State in the recruiting game? Sure, it’s not a method for everybody, but Harbaugh may be on the verge of starting a fad.
That said, if it starts affecting Michigan State’s recruiting, Dantonio may need to take a page from Harbaugh’s book if he wants his team remaining in contention long term.
