Spanish referee asks out female player in the middle of a game

A female soccer player in Spain claims that the referee in a recent match asked her out on a date in the middle of a recent match.

Romanian defender Elena Pavel of Sporting Huelva went on to add that she will not file a formal complaint because it’s her word against his. According to Pavel, referee Santiago Quijada Alcon attempted to provoke her by asking if she wanted to get a cup of coffee together after the match with Santa Teresa.

The local referee’s association said they will take action against Pavel for her claim.

If you couldn’t already determine her answer to the alleged question, Pavel told the referee to focus on his officiating. In other words, no.
