New BYU HC Kalani Sitake adds another piece to his coaching staff

New BYU head coach Kalani Sitake has been hard at work trying to complete his first coaching staff. He made a big play by landing former Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer to be his offensive coordinator and he has just added another piece to his staff.

According to reports, Sitake has hired Steve Clark to be the Cougars’ tight ends coach for the 2016 season and likely beyond. This is a big pickup for him as Clark is familiar with the BYU program.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Coach Sitake’s staff in this new exciting time of BYU football,” Clark said, a 1992 graduate of BYU, said in a statement. “I’ve been blessed to work with some great coaches and players over the years and can’t wait to begin working with this team.”

Clark coached at BYU as a graduate assistant from 2005-2007. He has since had stints at Provo High School, St. Mary’s College, Weber State, Southern Utah, and Utah since finishing school.

He has been the offensive coordinator for Weber State the last two seasons.
