Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins setting sights on Heisman

Ohio State incoming freshman quarterback Dwayne Haskins may spend the 2016 season backing up J.T. Barrett, but that hasn’t stopped him from setting the goal of winning the Heisman Trophy for himself. Haskins posted his desire for the trophy on Twitter.

A four-star talent from the Washington DC area, Haskins flipped his commitment to Ohio State from Maryland a couple of weeks ago and is viewed more as a traditional pocket passer than he is a dual-threat like Barrett. Despite that, he committed to the Buckeyes for a reason and given the great amount of talent that Ohio State has in its 2016 recruiting class, currently ranked No. 2 in the nation, don’t be surprised if Haskins winds up being a great fit in Columbus.

At that point, he should easily put himself into Heisman contention once he becomes Ohio State’s starting quarterback in a year.
