Missouri’s troubles this week are continuing. On top of quarterback Maty Mauk being suspended after being caught on video allegedly snorting drugs and backup QB Eddie Printz opting to transfer today, defensive line coach Chris Wilson has resigned from head coach Barry Odom’s staff to serve in the same position under Doug Pederson and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Wilson’s departure was reported on Twitter by Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports.
#eagles head coach Doug Pederson just announced they hired Mizzou DL coach Chris Wilson. Had only been on Barry Odom's staff few months.

This is rough for Missouri due to the simple fact that Wilson had barely been on staff to begin with, but it’s hard to ignore the NFL when it comes calling. Prior to being hired at Missouri, where he was also playing a big role in recruiting, Wilson had served as USC’s defensive line coach for two seasons. He also spent time at Georgia, Oklahoma, Colorado and Mississippi State.
To add further insult to injury on Missouri’s end, news of Wilson’s departure came just a few hours after the following video was tweeted.

Missouri will thus need to find a new defensive line coach and strong recruiter as soon as possible and though it’s easy to resent Wilson for his choice, it’s like what was said before. When the NFL comes a-calling, it’s hard to say no.
