Video: ‘Mean’ Joe Greene, Coke kid reunite nearly 40 years later

One of the most iconic Super Bowl commercials of all time came nearly 40 years ago when a young kid offered a limping Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker “Mean” Joe Greene his bottle of Coca-Cola.

Greene appreciated the generosity and gave him his game-worn jersey in a move that instantly turned every kid in America an evil shade of envy-green.

People Magazine did what everyone has probably been hoping to see as they got Greene to meet up with Tommy Okon, the kid from the commercial in a pretty awesome reunion. Greene talked about how he had to shoot the commercial several times and ended up chugging 18 bottles of Coke.

“I didn’t know any better. I chugged the doggone thing over and over and over,” Greene said.

This was a pretty awesome reunion and huge shock of nostalgia for fans of the Steelers and Coke everywhere.
