There are some big changes coming at Penn State when it comes to their football home, Beaver Stadium. Right now, the school is in the process of gathering as much information as possible when it comes to the upgrade of their facilities on campus.
The team is hoping that they will be able to get some much-needed upgrades at Beaver Stadium rather than having to replace the 107,000-seat venue. Chief operating officer and deputy athletic director Phil Esten talked about the possible upgrades on Thursday.
“Our desire, our inclination, quite frankly our expectation, is to renovate Beaver Stadium,” Esten told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “At the end of the day, when you take a look at what we want to accomplish in the stadium, we think that a renovation can get us there.”
Not only would these upgrades be a great thing for the fans that attend the games every weekend, but it would help the school’s chances of hosting big events. One of these events would be the NHL Winter Classic.
