UNLV would benefit from Raiders’ move to Las Vegas

There’s no doubting that the Oakland Raiders want to move out of California after losing the bid to move to Los Angeles in 2016. They have already reached out to a few places, including San Antonio.

It looks like the Raiders are looking at another possible location and it would be one that benefits them and a college program very well. On Thursday, reports arose that Las Vegas Sands have been pushing UNLV to build a new $1 billion “special events stadium.”

The university owns 42 acres of land and the corporation is calling it a good spot to build a 65,000-seat stadium which would be used as a sales pitch to lure in the Raiders.

This would be a big win for the Runnin’ Rebels, who bought the land with intentions to build a new home for their football program.

The Sands corporation would likely pick up most of the bill for the school and by bringing in a NFL team with as large of a fan base as the Raiders, UNLV should be more than happy give up some of their land.
