-

The Michigan State Spartans are set to kickoff the 2016 college football season in a big way.

On Thursday, it was announced that Michigan State will open the new year under the lights against Furman at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing. The game will take place on Friday, Sept. 2.

This continues the trend of Friday night openers alive for the six straight year.

Spartans fans in attendance can expect a big blowout win.
