Video: NFL scouts were worried J.J. Watt was too dumb and slow

In 2011, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt was drafted eleventh overall, despite many scouts not believing he was worth that high of a pick. He has certainly proven his worth as he has turned into one of the best players in the NFL.

He joined The Dan Patrick Show Thursday morning and he read out his draft report from 2011. It wasn’t very flattering as it partially stated “his recognition skills leave something to be desired” among other things.

I don’t know what was better: the draft report being pretty awful or Watt’s reactions to it. I guess, sometimes, these NFL scouts aren’t as good as they are paid to be.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees joined the show on Thursday as well. He shared the report he read on the show and it is just as wrong as Watt’s.

Just got done on Dan Patrick show..This was part of my draft report from NFL scouts that we read. Good stuff
