Report: Dallas Cowboys don’t want Johnny Manziel

The Dallas Cowboys will not pursue quarterback Johnny Manziel amid recent domestic violence allegations, according to a report from Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA 8.

This means that those who theorized that Manziel has been acting out the way he has recently so that the Cleveland Browns would either trade or release him so that he could ultimately land with the Cowboys are officially wrong. As badly as Dallas needs a backup to starter Tony Romo, it’s looking more like that option will be sought out via free agency or the upcoming NFL Draft.

And it’s not at all surprising on Dallas’ end. The Cowboys brought on Greg Hardy last season, a player with a recent off-field history that made signing him something of a red flag, and he ended up being a colossal headache both on and off the field. Needless to say, Dallas will not be bringing him back.

Just the same, though Manziel’s career is definitely looking like it’s over, never say never when Jerry Jones is potentially involved. Stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates from Manziel camp!
