With the start of spring ball just around the corner, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will have to fill a vacancy on the coaching staff.
In a statement on Friday, the Cornhuskers announced that defensive line coach Hank Hughes will not return to his position for the 2016 college football season. Head coach Mike Riley commented on the late staff shakeup.
“I want to thank Hank for his hard work and contributions to our football program over the past year,” Riley said in a statement. “
We continue to build our program with the pursuit of championships always at the forefront of everything we do, and we will look for a great coach, teacher and recruiter to enhance our defense.”
Hughes, who was under contract for another season with Nebraska, spent just one year in Lincoln.
