Ex-NFL WR Jabar Gaffney had ‘weed all over him’ at latest arrest

Former NFL wide receiver Jabar Gaffney has been arrested again, this time in Florida for apparently having weed “all over him,” according to the officer who initially pulled him over for having illegally tinted windows and driving erratically.

Video of Gaffney’s arrest may be seen here.

Thus continues a turbulent off-field life for the 35-year-old Gaffney, who played for the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins after being drafted out of Florida in 2002. His career was marred by off-field issues, so many that the Broncos benched him for disciplinary reasons in 2009. On top of that, while he was in college, Gaffney was caught stealing money and a watch from a locker room during the high school state championships.

And now Gaffney is likely looking at jail time, depending on how the prosecuting attorney decides to handle the case. Simply put, it’s just another chapter in another case of what could have been.
