KeiVarae Russell calls Jaylon Smith ‘the next Von Miller’

The Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl last night and linebacker Von Miller was named MVP of the game, and former Notre Dame cornerback KeiVarae Russell took to Instagram to compare his former teammate, linebacker Jaylon Smith, to Miller.

Granted, Smith is an incredibly strong linebacker with a bright NFL future, but is he Miller?

Miller was a dominant pass-rusher in four years at Texas A&M, posting 33 sacks before being drafted second overall by Denver in the 2011 NFL Draft, and Smith has always been more of a coverage linebacker up to this point.

In three years at Notre Dame, he totaled 284 tackles with 10 pass breakups and three forced fumbles to go with just 4.5 sacks.

That said, Smith may have the strength and hard-hitting nature of Miller, but to compare the two side by side is like comparing apples and oranges. Though they share a position, they are two completely different players.
