Though the Knicks showed improvement under Fisher this season thanks to the addition of rookie Kristaps Porzingis and others like Arron Afflalo and Derrick Williams, New York is in the midst of a five-game losing streak and has lost nine of ten. The Knicks’ record is 23-31 and they are five games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Kurt Rambis has been named the Knicks’ interim head coach, but count on team president and Hall of Famer Phil Jackson to look to bring in someone like Brian Shaw or Luke Walton to succeed Fisher on a long-term basis.
That is, if Jackson sticks around much longer after this season.
