Los Angeles Clippers star power forward and expert dunker Blake Griffin has been suspended four games without pay for a fight he had with a team equipment assistant in Toronto last month, according to TMZ.
The altercation left Griffin with a broken right hand and he is expected to miss two months of action. The situation was so bad that the Clippers, at one point, considered trading him.
But no trade took place and Griffin will now be banned from attending four games, be it while injured or once he is medically cleared to play again. He is averaging 23.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest and shooting just under 51 percent from the field. Griffin was also recovering from a partially torn quad muscle at the time of the incident, but the Clippers have gone 18-4 in his extended absence.
Griffin could wind up appealing his suspension, but this story is still very much developing. Be sure to stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates!
