One of the hottest names in the months leading up to the 2016 NFL Draft is Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey, who is all but guaranteed to be a Top 10 pick this spring. Ramsey is a superior athlete and as one NFC director of football operations told NFL.com, he could be the star of the NFL Scouting Combine later this month.
“Some scouts on the road think he’s overrated and some think he’s the next Richard Sherman,” the executive said. “We all agree that he’s going to win the combine and that (Mike) Mayock won’t stop talking about him.”
There’s no denying that Ramsey is definitely a top candidate to have an excellent combine performance, especially since he also competed in track and field at Florida State and considered trying out for the upcoming Olympics in Brazil prior to declaring for the draft.
In three years with the Seminoles, he accumulated 181 tackles with 22 pass breakups, three interceptions and four forced fumbles.
Needless to say, with the combine two weeks away, Ramsey will soon have the opportunity to show NFL scouts just what they can expect once he is drafted. Be sure to stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates on Ramsey’s path to the NFL!
