UNLV star F Stephen Zimmerman out with leg injury

The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels likely won’t be making the NCAA Tournament without winning their conference tournament this year. However, they can make a run late in their season, but it will be tough without a big piece of their team.

According to College Basketball Talk, the team will be without star freshman forward Stephen Zimmerman for at least a week. He is reportedly dealing with an undisclosed and minor leg injury, which he apparently suffered in a game against Fresno State.

Zimmerman is just a freshman, so he will likely make a comeback and continue being a big impact player for the Runnin’ Rebels in the very near future. He is one of the brightest young talents in the country and he could be on the rise, especially being at one of the most storied programs in the history of college basketball.

Zimmerman has averaged 10.9 points and nine rebounds per game this season, so losing him could be a big blow if it’s more serious than originally believed.
