Following the Denver Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 win over the Carolina Panthers, star quarterback Peyton Manning mentioned “Budweiser” twice. Immediately, people began expressing their belief that Manning was being paid by the beer company to specifically mention the brand.
However, Budweiser representatives immediately denied any of those rumors.
Hi Internet. For the record, Budweiser did not pay Peyton Manning to mention Budweiser tonight. We were surprised and delighted that he did.

Well, if Manning didn’t get paid by Budweiser, why would he specifically mention that beer?
Manning, who is incredibly aware of brands and his marketing power, actually has a good reason to mention the “King of Beers.” As it turns out, Manning owns stake in two Anheuser-Busch distributors in Louisiana, his home state, via WSBTV.
Considering Manning is always in Papa John’s commercials and owns 21 Papa John’s franchises in the Denver area, we shouldn’t be surprised that he is stumping for another brand that benefits him.
