Chargers tab former Notre Dame QB as offensive assistant

The San Diego Chargers have named former Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees an offensive assistant.

Rees set the all-time completion percentage record at Notre Dame, where he played from 2010-13 alongside current Chargers Manti Te’o, Chris Watt and Trevor Robinson.

During his career in South Bend, Rees played 47 games and threw for 7,670 yards and 61 touchdowns, and even was on the team that appeared in the 2012 BCS National Championship game.

Rees went undrafted in 2014 and signed with the Washington Redskins before eventually being cut. He spent last season as a graduate assistant for Northwestern’s football program.
