The Super Bowl is easily one of the biggest events in the United States. Whether you are a diehard fan of one of the teams in the game, a casual fan of the sport or just watch for the halftime show and commercials, you are invested in some way or another.
Sometimes, the game can bring out the worst in fans, especially when alcohol is involved. That couldn’t be more clear than with what happened at a Hesperia, California bar during the game Sunday night.
According to Victor Valley News, more than 30 people were involved at a massive fight at the Whiskey Barrel Saloon. Four were injured in the fight after barstools were thrown and mace was sprayed.
From the site, “An on-scene witness told Victor Valley News that at least thirty people were involved in the brawl, although at least one witness, per scanner traffic, claimed up to 100 people were involved. Officials from the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department said that there were about 12 subjects involved in the fight and the fight did appear larger due to several others attempting to break up the fight.
“The bar fight became dangerous when bar stools were thrown and mace and tasers were being used. Deputies requested a lot of saline solution in order to clean the mace from the eyes and skin of those it made contact with. Several others suffered injuries sustained by the airborne barstools making contact with them.”
Here is the video of the fight, albeit a crappy one.
Four arrests were made from the fight. Maybe this will serve as a lesson to everyone that if you can’t handle your alcohol, maybe it is best to just stay at home.
