4-star WR Amari Rodgers commits to Clemson

Class of 2017 four-star wide receiver has committed to Clemson, according to a tweet from Rodgers himself.

Currently a star at Tennessee’s Knoxville Catholic High School, Rodgers is built for the slot at 5-foot-10, 195 pounds. On top of Clemson, he also had offers from a number of fine programs including Alabama, Duke, LSU, Wake Forest, USC, Vanderbilt and Ohio University.

He’ll instead, next year, head to a Tigers team that rode a strong and balanced attack to a spot in the national championship game. Clemson lost to Alabama 45-40 but with some key players returning for next season and, perhaps, 2017, it’s going to be hard to count the Tigers out of contention for the foreseeable future.

Add Rodgers’ blazing speed to the mix, and this commitment should give Clemson fans plenty of reason to get excited for what’s coming down the road.
