Von Miller likely to get franchise tag

Despite being a force that drove the Denver Broncos to winning the Super Bowl, it seems Denver and Super Bowl MVP Von Miller have not even begun to discuss a long-term contract.

9 News Denver’s Mike Klis, a longtime beat writer for the Broncos, sees this as an “indication” that the team intends to place the franchise tag on their star outside linebacker. March 1 is the deadline for teams to place their franchise tags on players. Klis speculates that Denver will take a similar approach to how they handled Demaryius Thomas last year, as Thomas was franchise tagged before inking a five-year, $70 million extension before training camp

Given how big a role Miller played in Denver winning Super Bowl 50 last week along with the fact that he is one of the NFL’s top pass-rushers, don’t be shocked if Broncos management takes a similar route with the potential free agent.
