Sabres suspend Evander Kane after missing practice for NBA All Star Game

Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane has been suspended for their upcoming game against the Ottawa Senators. Kane reportedly overslept and missed practice Monday after attending the NBA All Star Game in Toronto.

This being a severe violation of a team rule, head coach Dan Bylsma decided to bench the 24 year-old left wing. Kane posted various pictures of himself on his Instagram account while at the All Star Game.

This isn’t the first time Kane has had disciplinary issues, either. When he played for the Winnipeg Jets, he ran into a slew of problems there including issues with off-ice injuries, assault accusations, and distasteful tweets resulting in a number of healthy scratches from head coach Claude Noel.

The Sabres acquired Kane from the Winnipeg Jets mid-way thorough last season. Kane has 16 goals and eight assists this season in 27 games. The Sabres will take on the Senators in Ottawa on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. EST.
