With National Signing Day for college football still a year away, there is time for teams to be able to recruit players like five-star cornerback Shaun Wide. However, unlike other recruits, Wade has already claimed that he is committed to Ohio State.
College football programs like Clemson, Michigan, and North Carolina have offered Wade a scholarship to play for them. Recently, the University of Florida tried its best to recruit the Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, FL) star. Following the visit, Wade posted an interview in which he was “100% with Urban Meyer, and Ohio State.”
“The corner coach, all the coaches, I love all the coaches. I talk to them 24/7, everyday.” Wade said in the interview.
For the Buckeyes, this is a good sign. The number two cornerback in the 2017 class wants to play for them. For Wade, however, he may want to do a little more thinking. Ohio State will have three seniors at the cornerback position and a redshirt junior by the time he is a freshman, which could eat into his playing time, and there is still time for Ohio State to get some young talent. Wade should enjoy the recruitment process, look at each program, weigh the pros and cons, and then make a decision come National Signing Day 2017.
