Kansas State handing out sportsmanship pledge cards for KU game

It’s rivalry week in college basketball, which means fans are at their rowdiest and Kansas State is looking to quell any bad sportsmanship from their students for tonight’s game against the in-state rival Kansas Jayhawks at Bramlage Coliseum.

In fact, the university has gone so far as to hand out actual sportsmanship pledge cards to students attending the game, with the threat that any bad behavior could result in losing the privilege to attend games for the rest of the season.

A picture of said card was posted to Twitter by local Kansas State beat writer Tim Fitzgerald.

Granted, rabid as Kansas State fans are, the Jayhawks probably have this one in the bag and the university shouldn’t worry too much about fans storming the court and/or shouting slogans that could be construed as offensive.

Just the same, the fact that Kansas State has gone this far to stress sportsmanship says one of two things: either fans or the administration need to cool down!

Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2, so be sure to tune in!
