Report: Tiger Woods’ back issues are getting worse

It appears we may be a way away from seeing Tiger Woods on a golf course, if that ever happens again.

According to a report from Robert Lusetich, Woods’ back problems are getting worse rather than better. He mentioned that Woods is having trouble moving, and it’s painful for him to sit.

Of course, this report was immediately refuted by Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg in a public statement.

“The tweets that appeared this weekend about Tiger’s health are ridiculous and absolutely false. It’s reprehensible that every few months someone makes something up and it’s treated like a real story,” he said via CBS Sports. “Tiger continues to work on his rehabilitation and we will have an accurate update at the appropriate time.”

It was unlikely that we were going to see Woods at all in 2016, but 2017 wasn’t out of the question. If Woods ultimately is struggling following back surgery, it may be time to put the clubs away for good. He’s one of the greatest golfers of all time, but his future away from the game needs to be put at the forefront of his priority list rather than risking future problems by coming back.
