Broncos need to cut Peyton Manning within 15 days

Just over two weeks ago, the Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl for the first time since 1998. Now, in just over two weeks, the team needs to make a big decision when it comes to their quarterback.

Peyton Manning has yet to make a decision on what he will do for the 2016 season. Many believe that he could be retiring while others think he has one more season in him.

Whatever the case may be, the Broncos have to make a decision. That is because, in just 15 days, the remaining $19 million on Manning’s contract for the 2016 season becomes guaranteed.

This means if he were to retire on March 9, the day the 2016 NFL season officially begins, or any day after, he would be owed that money for not doing anything starting in September. This could be a big problem for the Broncos as they don’t know if he will be sticking around for the 2016 season or not.

They don’t want to be shelling out nearly $20 million for a quarterback that won’t play when they could be paying franchise linebacker Von Miller or trying to keep running backs C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman or quarterback Brock Osweiler.
