Report: Reggie Ragland to be ‘much lighter’ at Combine

When it comes to prospects looking to be drafted to the NFL, weight can make a huge difference. Sometimes, teams like for a player to be lighter or heavier when they are looking to enter the NFL.

It looks like one top linebacker has been cutting some weight ahead of the NFL Scouting Combine this weekend. A NFL scout with the Philadelphia Eagles is reporting that former Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland will be lighter at the Combine than he was at the Senior Bowl weigh-ins.

“Expect Reggie Ragland, who tipped the scales at 259 pounds during Senior Bowl weigh-ins, to be much lighter at the Combine. Ragland spent most of the two weeks between Alabama winning the National Championship and Senior Bowl weigh-ins on the awards circuit where he found just a few available days to train.”

Ragland is one of the best linebacker prospects in this year’s NFL Draft and he will likely be taken in the first round. However, if he drops too much weight, it may turn some teams off.

What do you think, fans? Should Ragland be cutting weight or is he fine at nearly 260 pounds?
