This year Clemson has a chance to dominate the NFL draft, with three players predicted to go in the first round.
Originally, all of the attention was being placed on defensive end Shaq Lawson, but that is starting to change. According to recent draft boards, Lawson is falling in the draft and fellow Clemson defensive end Kevin Dodd is rising.
While Lawson was originally slated as a mid first-round pick, he has since watched his name fall to the bottom of the first in mock drafts.
Dodd, meanwhile, is rising from a Day 2 pick to the first-round discussion along with Lawson.
People cite different reasons for this change in draft stock. Some place it on it Dodd’s stellar play down the road or his emergence in the national championship. Others just cite that they believe Dodd is a better player, with better athleticism and a higher celling than Lawson.
