Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler wound up on a video of a physical altercation released to TMZ, one in which he can be seen trying to break up a fight between his girlfriend and the mother of his child, and the former Florida Gator has finally released a statement on the matter.
Simply put, Fowler isn’t angry, but embarrassed for his family, according to a statement from him.
“I am embarrassed and have apologized for my actions to everyone involved,” Fowler said in the statement. “As a family, we have been dealing with this moment and the conflict that led to it since this occurred. The video surfacing is a sad reminder that emotions got the best of all of us. I take 100 percent responsibility for everything that happened.”
NBC Sports reported that Fowler made the Jaguars aware of the video before it went public and though he himself doesn’t appear to be in trouble right now, especially since he broke up the fight (albeit after letting the two women go at it for a bit), the NFL will still review the incident.
