Mayock on Cardale Jones, Christian Hackenberg: ‘The tape is really bad’

Two of the names that many expect to be drafted at some point in April and then go on to compete for a starting job in the NFL are former Big Ten quarterbacks Cardale Jones and Christian Hackenberg.

At one point, both of these quarterbacks were considered the top at the position and even overall in the Draft. Now Jones projected as a fourth-round pick, while Hackenberg is projected as a second or third-round guy and it looks like one expert doesn’t believe in either of them.

NFL Draft expert Mike Mayock talked about the two quarterbacks and said that they both have the talents needed to play in the NFL. However, he then went on to say that when watching them on film, it didn’t look good.

A lot of experts expect the Houston Texans to go with Hackenberg since he would be reuniting with former college coach Bill O’Brien and would have some chemistry. Other than that pairing, both quarterbacks are seen as projects instead of day one starters in the league.
